About me

Parvathy Anilkumar

I’m happy to invite you to explore my ePortfolio and get to know a bit more about me. I am Parvathy Anilkumar. I am an SSW graduate from Georgian College, Orangeville Campus, Ontario. I was born and raised in Kerala, India, and completed my post secondary school education in 2023. I think I would be proud of what I accomplished if I could at least assist one person when they were in need.

This portfolio showcases some of my achievements and then my interests and so on.

Career Goals

I would like to work as a community support worker or at childcare homes because I really want to expand my area of expertise and experience new opportunities. I also like working with children and supporting them. Kids usually get along with me and I feel satisfied watching them smile because of me. I mostly have experiences working with children in schools and care homes. There are many children who lack the special care and support which is significant for their life. I will work to support and help people who are in need of assistance. I will also assess myself to improve and learn from the experiences. This will definitely help me with my future career and also my personal life.

Community Involvement

Karate Black Belt

Karate classes

I started learning karate at a very young age. The regular classes, grades, and competitions helped me to achieve an instructor's license. Thus, at the karate temple, I was also able to teach newcomers as instructed by my teacher. Teaching others was a new experience. Moreover, I could learn more by sharing my knowledge.

Yoga Mats

Yoga classes

Yoga is always the most relaxing activity I spent time on. At my school, for the extracurricular activity yoga is chosen by most of the students including me. As I already have a background in yoga which I practice at the karate temple, the teacher asks me to volunteer for her if she was on a leave or if there were too many students. I also used to take yoga classes in my neighborhood for free during the covid lockdown period.

Working at a fast food restaurant requires a lot of community involvement because, as a supervisor, I must both hear what the customer has to say and the employees have to say.
